Meet Kaylyn, a compassionate and welcoming therapist who believes in the power of connection and authenticity on the path to well-being. With a diverse range of experiences, Kaylyn specializes in working with adults, adolescents, and couples, fostering a warm and thoughtful therapeutic environment. Through the exploration of cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral techniques, Kaylyn collaborates with her clients to navigate trauma and cultivate a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Kaylyn’s approach is rooted in the values of self-compassion and authenticity. She guides her clients in embracing their true selves, fostering a sense of self-worth and resilience. She understands that each individual’s journey is unique, and she tailors her therapeutic techniques to meet the diverse needs of her clients. In her practice, being LGBTQ+ friendly and sex-positive is not just a label but a fundamental aspect of creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected.
In her work with couples, Kaylyn skillfully navigates the intricacies of relationships, helping partners overcome miscommunications and reconnect on a deeper level. She is an advocate for consensual non-monogamous, LGBTQ+, and diverse couples, providing a safe and affirming space for all relationship dynamics.
From teens navigating the complexities of identity exploration, relationships, and coping skills, Kaylyn offers more than just support; she creates a space for self-discovery and expression. Through the use of expressive arts and inventive therapeutic techniques, she encourages teens to express their most authentic selves to meet their desired goals.
Kaylyn is trained in DBT, CBT, Sexual Health, Trauma-Informed Care, and is working towards her EMDR certification. Kaylyn received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Master’s of Arts in Counseling at Texas State University.
In her free time, Kaylyn loves cuddling with her cats, Gumbo and Roux, trying new cooking recipes, and looking through her telescope. 🙂
