Shamale’s work is dedicated to helping people develop healthy perceptions of self and strengthen relationships.  She believes therapy is a collaborative venture where knowledge and skills are merged to generate change.  Shamale aims to cultivate trust and authenticity with clients as they work to process and heal.     

Shamale has worked with adolescents experiencing mental health crises in an acute hospital setting.  She was able to provide brief crisis counseling while supporting families navigating mental health resources. She believes in providing youth a safe place where they can be heard and supported.    

Shamale specializes in working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and grief.  She utilizes a variety of psychiatric treatment techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, stress management, anxiety reduction, empowerment, and motivational interviewing. 

Shamale received her MSW from the University of Texas (Arlington) in 2019 with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse.  She completed an internship working in a behavioral health clinic on Fort Hood, helping active-duty soldiers address emotions related to depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Prior degrees include a BSW from Kansas State University.  Shamale enjoys spending time with her family and friends, candle making, and reading.
